意大利默片**的记录，由几个电影资料馆馆藏的黑白影像拼接而成，穿插旁白和字卡。法语版旁白由Fanny Ardant朗读，意大利语版是Isabella Rosselini。从19世纪末到20世纪20年代末，三十年间的浮光掠影：戏法、舞台、神话、战争、侵略、狂热、**…旁白由**人物对当时的回忆构成：从皮兰德娄对电影这种新艺术形式的厌恶到少年费里尼看第一部电影时受到的震撼，从葛兰西对当红女星的盛赞到布拉塞蒂对自己***青年时期的回忆…选取的影像本身非常迷人，缺点是讲述方式游走在抒情和教学之间不甚清楚，于是感觉两边都没做到最好。记住了Lyda Borelli, Francesca Bertini和Bartolomeo Pagano（Maciste）这几个名字，希望以后某天能在资料馆看到他们的片子。
